Dr. Armstrong is originally from just outside Syracuse, NY. She decided she wanted to be a veterinarian at age three, and never strayed from her decision. She has a drawing and story stating her career that she made in second grade, which her parents saved and then framed and presented to her at her graduation from veterinary school. Dr. Armstrong grew up pet sitting, horseback riding with the United States Pony Club and 4-H and eventually giving horseback riding lessons. She had a horse named Sir Lancelot from the age of 11 – 31. She went to college at SUNY Geneseo and earned a BS in Biology, then attended Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2002.
After vet school, she worked at a busy small animal and exotics hospital in Syracuse, NY for five years, before moving to central PA in 2007. She worked at Animal Care Center in Danville, as well as Animal Care Hospital in Lewisburg before becoming an associate at CAH. Her veterinary interests include small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery, and she has advanced training in endoscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of GI problems in animals. Dr. Armstrong lives in Lewisburg with her husband James and their four children, Greyson, Luke and twins, Alison and Colin. Dr. Armstrong adores being a mom to her wonderful kids, and enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to concerts, cooking, reading, horseback riding and hiking/running. Though extremely busy, she feels very fortunate to be able to have achieved a good balance of life as a mom, wife and veterinarian.
